A random thought..
I was on the phone with PL for the past hour and i gradually felt…
Despaired.
Frankly, I’ve been spending long hours attending to the emails daily.
BUT…
Still… PL received many emails and comments on her personal blog that Agnes is SLOW recently and with a couple of negative comments.
It came all so sudden… like a sudden blow, all attacking particularly at me. Weirdly, I have been the one attending to emails since the debut collection and never did receive comments / emails for being SLOW.
For the latest collection, i reckoned, it might be due to the fact that all emailing of invoices had to be done alone. Usually, PL will help me out with sending out the invoices to the BO(s) which lightens the load.
Well, i must say, in every collection, tedious work had to be done to ensure that there will not be any fraud payments.
Every single email verification would take roughly about a minute.
Details such as date of transfer, IB nick, ATM ref no, time and venue into both the excel filing sheet and the mailing list so that PL can print out on the following day.
We are just doing our part by verifying payment closely so that there will not be any scammers who take free clothes from us and sell in on sgflea as profit and end up cheating other people.
Anyway, i felt it might be good to share this so that everyone will have a clearer view of what’s going on:
For every launch, I’ll prepare a new excel file with the available number of slots for each item. For the 1st hr of the launch, i’ll send out invoices till all the slots in the excel file are filled. Next, i’ll go to verify the paid payments for the next 2 hrs or so and then back to sending invoices for the Backorders. This is so that PL can mail out the items promptly which explains why some do not receive our invoices till the very next day / payments not verified in the next 24 hrs. I would usually attend to the instocks emails prior to the BO payments so that PL can wrap and mail out the items once she has received the mailing list from me.

To further improve our system, PL & I will be enlisting del’s help for sending out invoices in the next few collections and also the mailing out of parcels since the singpost is just opposite del’s house during this period of time when PL is having exams.

hello:) dont be despaired! i think its inevitable when u run a successful business like urs and PL’s:) take heart! such probs wont arise if it were a blogshop with few ppl visiting right! i think its only because e customers are desperate to get their piece which they love so much:)

Seb was surprised how come i can reply an email with 5 full paragraphs and with more than 500 words within a few minutes lo and the words just flow out from my fingers like as though i know what i want to say. While it’s good to keep on improving AE’s invoicing system, I feel that it’s not exact your ‘fault’ when you take slightly more time to reply. Given the popularity of AE, the response for each collection must be overwhelming, with so many comments/orders to attend to. I happened to chance upon some comments on forums and was shocked to see that Singapore women/girls are quite shallow and self-centered. Anyways, don’t be discouraged or too bothered by it. Keep on improving and gogogo! I can’t wait for the preview of the Sales!

You’re not slow, Agnes. Maybe a few of your customers are spoiled by other blogshop owners who reply so fast, like within 1 hour!! I think that, in general, your customers are quite satisfied – we’d rather receive slower but attentive service than hasty service with more errors. I’m sure your customers will understand that you aren’t doing this job fulltime but as an adjunct to your studies!

i was just telling this to my friend the other day. some people are just kan jiong spiders, like me!! haha.
i understand that there’s a lot of work to be done for each collection and there’re only the 2 of you so emails might be slow and stuff. but when i do get something from a particular collection, i get quite kan jiong and paranoid. hahaha! agneselle’s stuffs are so popular and so pretty that i’ll be super upset if i dont get my hands on them!
so really, while some buyers may be spoilt kiddos who dont sympathise, there are others who do really understand and sympathise with you girls but its just that we are really anxious to receive a reply so that we can be 100% sure that that pretty item on the webby is ours to be.
that said, i really hope you wont be affected by pple saying that you’re slow and what not. its just the kan jiong spiders scurrying around!

You have to understand that there are all kinds of pple in this world. And you know that you have done your best in obtaining and acheiving the best for your customers, you shld be happy. PPle are gan chiong and very nervous due to their own habits, you can’t change them. Do your best to make pple feel it for those who can and you are already there! AE produce and manufacture beautiful clothes! I am so willing to wait and hope a new collection will be up soon! =) Relax and cool down …

i think comparing a blogshop like agneselle who has like hundreds of replies immediately after e launch compared to another blogshop which clocks like less than 10 comments even after days… of cause the rate is slower!
but i think u girls are great. i mean despite ur own hectic schedule like exams u all are still doing ur best to attend to queries n mailing out stuff

i am in your vs-inspired royal summer dress BO, and i have to admit that even though you took about 24 hours to invoice me, and 48 more hours to verify payment, I DONT MIND! because i know that it’s difficult to handle so many hundreds of orders. I would rather you guys stay careful (no mistakes while mailing out envelopes etc) and personal (no computerized invoicing system!)

I think you are and have been doing a great job. I’m a blogshop owner so i know how stressful it can get with very demanding customers. Pls don’t feel down with those silly/rubbish comments /emails. some of these girls can be very nasty at times.

Yes pls do not let those girls (esp those nasty ones who do not give CONSTRUCTIVE feedback) control ur mind. There are bound to be unreasonable customers around. And prob they are also spoiled by other blogshop owners who camp at the laptop checking their mails almost every hour. But not everyone does it.. and it’s not healthy to be camping at laptop all the time. Work/life balance !!
